Alex Izaguirre a.k.a Mamút, is a Venezuelan born graphic artist based in Miami, FL. His passion for design is strongly linked to music, social justice and use of color. His influences range from graphic novels, rock & roll, patterns and traditional printing techniques.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort. Lauderdale as a Graphic Designer, he worked for several years as Art Director for companies such as  Village Voice Media's publication Miami New Times, Univision, and Spain’s advertising agency S.C.P.F. 

His work can also be seen in a variety of organizations like Voto Latino, The California Endowment, and Listos California. He most recently won a Shorty’s award for design in a “Immigrants are Essential” campaign, and was selected as featured artist in Target®’s Latino Heritage Month campaign “Más que a Month” for 2021 and 2022.

In 2022, MaMÚt was selected as the year’s artist for dogfish head miami’s tart series. The series consisted of 4 can designs in total (1 per quarter) of Dogfish Head’s sour beers.

As a musician and designer, he has helped build the brand identity of many music acts in his city and dedicate a portion of his time to philanthropic donation of his talent to help a community in need of design. Some of his musical clients include Draco Rosa, DJ trece (Johnny flecha), Desorden Publico, Mr. Pauer, Locos por Juana, Xperimento, Nacho Londoño, Minimal, Ska Jazz Messengers, Elastic Bond, Dama Vicke and many more.

Mamút embraces all the conscious and subconscious culture that Alex Izaguirre absorbed by both living in Venezuela as a teenager and in Miami until now.
